More and more brides and grooms are planning
their weddings in exotic locations around the world, like Hawaii. Many
of them figure they may as well get married in the place they would like
to honeymoon in, effectively combining the two events. By bringing
friends and family along on their Hawaii wedding, they turn it into a
huge vacation for everyone.
A destination wedding in
Hawaii is certainly beautiful. However, a Hawaii wedding for a couple
that live elsewhere presents its own unique sets of challenges. A bride
and groom really need to sit down and figure out the pros and cons of a
Hawaii wedding before they commit themselves to it.
There are several pros to
having a Hawaii wedding. Some of them have already been mentioned,
there is a relaxed feel and style to a
beach wedding in Hawaii
that you cannot get anywhere else. In having a wedding in the same
location as where you wish to honeymoon, you can combine the two
events. By combining your Hawaii wedding and Hawaii honeymoon, you can
extend the entire Hawaii wedding experience that much longer. Some
resorts will even give discounts on Hawaii wedding packages when a
honeymoon is also purchased at the same location. The extra savings can
certainly be beneficial for a bride and groom, especially ones that are
having to cover the majority of their Hawaii wedding expenses.
One of the other pros
mentioned above is that by inviting friends and family along, they can
turn the entire Hawaii wedding into a vacation for those they love. If
the bride and groom don’t mind having friends and family on vacation at
the same resort as them as they honeymoon, the bride and groom could
possibly save even more off the cost of their Hawaii wedding. While
it’s typically seen as odd to have friends and family along on a
honeymoon, the experience will certainly create fond memories that will
last a lifetime for everyone involved in the Hawaii wedding.
Perhaps one of the biggest
drawbacks to having a destination wedding in Hawaii is the sheer cost
involved. Airfare can be prohibitively expensive for two people much
less and entire wedding party and guest list. While some of the costs
can be deferred by asking wedding guests to pay for their own airfare to
the Hawaii wedding, it does put a huge financial strain on those who may
not be able to afford it. By requiring guests to pay for their own
airfare to the Hawaii wedding, a bride and groom risk having some of
their most dear friends and family be unable to attend.
In spite of the costs
involved, there’s no doubt that
destination weddings, particularly Hawaii weddings, are here to
stay. So long as there are brides and grooms who are willing to pay any
cost involved to have the wedding of their dreams, there will be
destination weddings. A Hawaii wedding is certainly the sort of things
a lot of dreams are made of. Most people only get married once in their
life. They may as well make their Hawaii wedding memorable
