Some Lanikai residents say enough is enough - they no longer want commercial weddings taking place in their neighborhood. At the same time, the white-sand beach with turquoise waters is sought after by brides and grooms throughout the world since being named one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches. Kailua neighborhood board members, however, say the residential area and one-way loop is not the appropriate venue for commercial vans and limos to pass through. The state Department of Land and
Natural Resource is now enforcing permits for
commercial beach weddings, but says it has not ruled
out any sites yet. "Due to the wishes of the local community Aloha island Weddings is not Planning weddings at this beach." |

The
Beach
Kailua Beach Park is known for its long stretches of
white sandy beaches and glimmering emerald sea.
Overwhelming and exotic is the beauty of Kailua,
with its close proximity to town and Waikiki has
made this location a favorite amongst locals and
tourist alike . In the last two years beach cottages
and bed and breakfast inns have sprouted up all
along the coast catering to the many tourist who
want to live near this special place .
The waters in
Kailua are usually warm and the waves are small enough for body boarders and swimmers
to snorkeling in its clear waters with a shore long and expansive you may find yourself spending the whole day
relaxing and playing in this cozy town of Oahu . There are many kayaks for rent at
the beach park and you will not be short of recreational ocean activities such as surfing, snorkeling and sail boarding.. There is usually no
warning or dangerous wave signs on the beach unless
there are jelly fish.
Kailua Beach Park is located on the Windward side of the island at the end of
Kailua Road,. If you go further down the road past Kailua you come to a
area called Lanikai beach, to go Kailua you may take the Pali Highway (61)
from Waikiki through the Pali which is a nice drive
along the lush forest of Oahu once you descend down
the mountain you will come to the small town of
Kailua .
