The historic makapu'u light house is home to this location of beauty .A world away from the busy shores of Waikiki beach Makapuu meaning in Hawaiian "the eyes of the shark" is Oahu's scenic gem a world famous scenic island destination. The drive from town in Honolulu takes about 30 minuets as you pass sheer cliffs and famous areas such as the
Blow hole and Hanamauma Bay.
     The beach is surrounded by lava rocks and 100 foot cliffs
formed by Oahu's volcanoes over a million of years ago with strong mighty waves breaking on its shore. Sea Life Park the popular oceanic center is right across the street from this area. For locals its a popular body-surfing spot but if your not used to the big waves you should be cautious and careful.
