Planning a destination wedding
If you’re planning a destination wedding, particularly a
Hawaii wedding, chances are a lot of things are running through your mind.
Unless you live in Hawaii or have family or friends who live in Hawaii, planning
a Hawaii wedding can seem like an expensive and daunting task. Before you throw
in the towel and decide to have your wedding a little closer to home, there are
several ways you can save money and still have the Hawaii wedding of your
dreams.
One of the most obvious ways to save money on your Hawaii
wedding involves booking your Hawaii wedding during the offseason. During the
peak tourist season, Hawaii is filled with visitors from all over the world.
The huge influx of tourists leaves the hotel filled to the brim. The law of
supply and demand dictates that when something is in short supply, the prices go
up. Because rooms are harder to come by, they are also more expensive. If you
book your Hawaii wedding during the offseason, there will be more rooms
available. As such, the costs of the rooms will be cheaper. Depending on the
size of your Hawaii wedding and how long you wish to stay there, you can save
hundreds of dollars on the cost of hotel rooms alone.
If you can find a hotel that offers wedding packages and
book all of your rooms for all of your guests and your honeymoon there, you
might be able to negotiate a significant discount, especially if your Hawaii
wedding is in the offseason. At that point, your wedding will be bringing the
hotel so much business with all of the guests, the wedding and the honeymoon
booked there, they might be willing to include free rooms or other amenities in
exchange for the amount of money you will be paying for your Hawaii wedding.
Another possible way to find cheap lodging is to check the
vacation homes available for rent. Once again, if you’re Hawaii wedding takes
place during the offseason, chances are the vacation homes will be empty and
available for rent. Renting a vacation home, or numerous vacation homes, for
your wedding party and guests will allow for more people to stay in one location
saving on rooming costs. Most vacation homes also have spectacular views of
Hawaii’s many fine beaches and the ocean that surrounds them. Hotels charge
extra for the wonderful views that you can get included in the cost of the
vacation home you rent for your Hawaii wedding.
Airfare is also cheaper during the offseason. Traveling
during the week and staying over a weekend can further decrease the costs. Much
like booking all of the rooms, wedding, and honeymoon at one hotel or resort, if
you book a lot of airline tickets with one specific airline, you might be able
to qualify for a discounted group rate. Perhaps you could even talk the travel
agent into free first class upgrades for the bride and groom. Hopefully by now
you realize it is possible to get the Hawaii wedding of your dreams and save
money at the same time.
