Tom and Janie were married at 10 in the morning on the beach at Makapuu. The ceremony started with a little rain, but by the end of the vows the sky had cleared, just in time for something magical.
Their white arch was decorated with white and blue flowers, with starfish and candle holders on the table. Janie carried a bouquet of tropical fern from Oahu’s mountain forest with white, yellow eyed plumeria, and after the ceremony she changed into a mermaid tail for photos along the shore.

Vows in the Morning Rain
Janie walked up to the archway to meet Tom, and they said their vows so softly only they could hear. Rev. Kimo blew the conch shell as they kissed, and they slipped on their rings as the clouds began to clear.
The mermaid
A Mermaid on the Shore
Then the bride became a mermaid. In her pink tail Janie lay on the sand and in the shallow water at Makapuu while Tom held his mermaid close, for some of the most unforgettable photos we have ever taken.
