Lauren & Johnathan's Hawaii Wedding
Lauren and Johnathan stayed in Waikiki at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, and that is where we filmed and photographed their pre-wedding shoot. Lauren got ready in her room with her best friend and family. There was plumeria for her hair, earrings in the mirror, and a few quiet moments looking out the window and from the lanai of the Rainbow Tower. Their rings were photographed resting in yellow king proteas. The couple also had a playful “trash the dress” session in the Hilton lagoon, splashing each other by the waterfall. Then everyone climbed into the limo for the drive over the island to the beach.
The ceremony was on the soft white sand of Waimanalo beach on Oahu's windward side, with turquoise water behind them. The colors were bright and tropical: pink, orange and yellow hibiscus, birds of paradise and king proteas. The bamboo arch was covered in hibiscus, with cross back wooden chairs for their guests and a conch shell and champagne glasses waiting on the ceremony table. Lauren shared a sweet moment with her mom at the arch, Johnathan greeted everyone with a big shaka, and the couple said their vows under the flowers. As they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, family and friends showered them with flower petals.
We also took Lauren and Johnathan on a photo tour around the island, singing along to the radio between stops. They visited the cliffs of Makapuu, the Halona Blow Hole and views of Diamond Head. The celebration with family and friends was at Tiki's Bar & Grill in Waikiki.
