Before the ceremony
A Valentine’s Day Wedding
What better day to get married than Valentine’s Day? Isabella and Mateo started with photos together on the sandy path to the beach, between the lava rocks and the green beach plants, with laughs, a kiss on the cheek and her white and yellow plumeria bouquet.

The ceremony
A Hawaiian Ceremony on Secret Beach
A Welcome to Our Beginning sign greeted them on the sand. Our minister opened the ceremony by blowing the conch shell, and later played the ukulele for them, with the lagoon, the palms and the mountains all around.

Leis
The Lei Exchange
They exchanged white plumeria leis: Mateo held his up in the shape of a heart before placing it over Isabella’s head, and she placed his with a smile.

Rings & vows
Rings & Vows by the Lagoon
Hand in hand by the lagoon, they said their vows. Their rings came tied to a starfish with teal ribbon, and after the blessing of the rings they slipped them on.

Cheers
A Sparkling Cider Toast on the Beach
Mateo poured sparkling apple cider into champagne glasses right there on the sand, and they raised a toast by the lagoon before looking out at the ocean together.
A side note: Hawaii law does not allow alcohol on public beaches, so instead we use sparkling apple cider. It comes in a bottle, it is really bubbly and looks just like champagne, but it is non-alcoholic.
