The Luau Gardens at the Hale Koa Hotel

The Hale Koa, whose name means “house of the warrior,” is the Waikiki hotel for the U.S. military community. It sits right on the beach beside the wide lawns of Fort DeRussy, next door to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, with tropical gardens, banyan trees and some of the best sunset views in Waikiki.

Tucked inside the hotel grounds, the Luau Gardens are a peaceful green lawn shaded by tall trees, with a white wooden gazebo at the center. It is a lovely setting for a garden wedding or vow renewal: we decorate the gazebo in your colors, set the chairs on the lawn for your guests, and after the ceremony you are just steps from the beach for sunset photos.

Our Hale Koa Luau Gardens location is $1,250 and can be added to any of our packages. Because the Hale Koa serves the military community, your ceremony here is available when you are an active military member or have a family member who is one.

Bryan & Rie’s Hale Koa Wedding

Bryan, in his Navy dress uniform, and Rie were married under the white gazebo in the Luau Gardens, decorated in pink and orange, with Rev. Chris Cain leading the ceremony. Before the wedding they shared quiet photos by the banyan tree, and Rie carried a bouquet of white and purple orchids with yellow plumerias. Afterwards they celebrated in the Laulima Room on the hotel’s second floor with a Hawaiian luau buffet, a DJ, white lanterns with orchids on every table, and a three tier coconut and passion orange cake. The kids danced the night away, and the couple later took sunset photos at Magic Island.
