The setup
A Tropical Flower Hawaiian Heart
On Monday, April 20, 2026, Travis and Laura renewed their vows on Waialae Beach from 2:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, five years after they first said I do. Waiting for them on the sand was a tropical flower Hawaiian heart: a big heart shaped arch on a base of green leaves, filled with coral, pink and yellow tropical flowers, with a flower aisle of pink petals, white chairs and the turquoise water of Waialae right behind it.

Arriving
Arriving at Waialae Beach
Travis and Laura walked across the lawn under the palms to the beach, Laura in her gown with a plumeria bouquet and Travis in white and khaki, with Laura’s parents, her brother and his girlfriend there to celebrate with them.

The ceremony
Renewing Their Vows
Their family took their seats as Travis and Laura walked up the flower aisle to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwoʻole. Paul, the owner of Aloha Island Weddings, led the ceremony and played his ukulele. Travis and Laura said their own vows inside the heart, exchanged white and yellow plumeria leis, and had their rings blessed, with the blessing of the Hawaiian conch shell and a sand ceremony in white and turquoise sand.
After the kiss came a shower of flower petals, and they walked back down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Ingrid Michaelson.

Flowers
Plumeria Bouquet & Leis
Laura carried a bouquet of pink, white and yellow plumeria wrapped in a green leaf, with white orchids in her hair. Travis and Laura wore white and yellow plumeria leis, the guys wore green kukui nut leis, and the moms wore rainbow leis.

The cake
A Passion Fruit & Strawberry Wedding Cake
Their one tier wedding cake was passion fruit with strawberries, in all white frosting, topped with fresh flowers to match the heart. They cut it right under the arch, fed each other the first bites, and everyone toasted with sparkling apple cider and bottles of passion fruit Hawaiian tea from the cooler.

The details
Their Five Year Vow Renewal, Start to Finish
Five years is the wood anniversary, a symbol of a marriage with strong roots. Travis and Laura chose to celebrate it in Hawaii, with a small, relaxed ceremony on a quiet beach and the people closest to them. Before the day, we met with them for a private consultation, and our onsite coordinator took care of the beach permit, the setup and the timeline so all they had to do was show up and enjoy it.
The morning started with hair and makeup for Laura, then on to Waialae Beach. Their ceremony was Hawaiian from start to finish: their own vows, a lei exchange, the conch shell and a prayer blessing, a sand ceremony in white and turquoise sand, the blessing of the rings, and a hand calligraphy decorative certificate to take home.
Our photographer stayed with them for two hours of photos at the heart arch, along the beach and under the palms, and our videographer filmed the whole ceremony with a wireless microphone, plus drone scenes of the beach and romantic and family moments, set to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Reflecting Light” by Sam Phillips and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
