Natasha and Tyson wanted their wedding to be very bright and very tropical, and Hawaii answered. On the lava rocks of Oahu’s east coast, a bamboo arch rose in magenta, lime green and mango orange fabric, the trade winds lifting it like a sail, with the deep blue sea and the little islands offshore behind them.
Their bouquets were lush with Stargazer lilies, orchids, plumeria, calla lilies and Hawaiian berries. Natasha wore a white flower in her hair, her bridesmaids wore pink, and the groomsmen wore pink shirts with fresh leis. A ukulele and a singer carried the music, and the call of the conch shell opened the ceremony.
Minister Mahalani Mix led a traditional Christian ceremony, and Natasha and Tyson added the vows they had written for each other, with their parents and grandparents close by. Their words are below, as true today as they were by the sea.
Before the wedding they had a day of adventure, smiling in the water with a dolphin, and the photo became one of their favorites. Follow their whole story through the bubbles: getting ready in Waikiki, the rainforest shoot, romance by the sea, family and friends, and a reception that danced until ten.

Their Vows
Natasha: “Tyson, today I take you to be my best friend, my love for life. I know that our love is heaven sent and I promise to be here forever and always. You are my rock and the place I find comfort and strength. From today onward, you should never walk alone, for I give you my hand to hold today but my heart to cherish forever. I promise to honor our love each day more than the previous and never take it for granted, to love and respect you as an individual, keep you close in faithfulness and to always laugh with you in times of joy. Even though our future is still unwritten, I now know that no matter where the road leads, I will never be alone.”
Tyson: “Natasha, I love you. You are and will always be my best friend. Today we are joined as one and begin a new chapter of our life-long journey together. Our journey will be filled with love and compassion and faith and happiness. I shall always treasure you, listen to your every word and respect your views. I promise to always take care of you through the good and the bad. You can always count on me. And no matter what life throws at the both of us, I know I want us to do it together, because there is no one else in this world I want to spend the rest of my life with, but you.”
