The wedding morning began high above Waikiki. On one floor Tyson buttoned his shirt and the groomsmen gathered on the lanai in matching pink, laughing, toasting and teasing the groom. On another, Natasha’s bridesmaids helped her into her gown while the city and Diamond Head sparkled outside the window.
Getting ready is one of our favorite parts of the day to film. The nerves turn into laughter, the dress comes out of its bag, and best friends become a team. Natasha’s bridesmaids lifted her off her feet, spun her gown across the room and danced with her before anyone had even left the hotel.
The film below captures those first hours: the light through the curtains, the hugs, the pink dresses and the moment the bride is finally ready. It is a reminder that a wedding is not only the ceremony, but every small moment that leads up to it.
Natasha’s colors were already part of the morning: the bridesmaids’ bright pink dresses, the pink shirts of the groomsmen and the white of her gown against the blue Waikiki sky. By the time everyone was dressed, the nerves had melted into excitement, and the whole wedding party was ready to head for the sea and the arch waiting on the rocks.
Wedding mornings go by in a blur of hairspray, hugs and happy tears, and that is exactly why we love to film them, so every little moment can be lived again.
