Natasha & Tyson

An Afternoon in the Hawaiian Forest

The day before their wedding, Natasha and Tyson traded the beach for the rainforest. Under a green canopy, a small waterfall spilled over mossy black rocks, and they stood in the spray and kissed as if no one else in the world was watching.

Deeper in, the trail opened into a bamboo forest, tall and whispering in the wind. Natasha wore a crown of white flowers and twirled a pink parasol, Tyson lifted a conch shell to the sky, and the two of them jumped into the air in grass skirts, laughing at their own silliness.

A rainforest shoot is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon before the big day. The light is soft under the trees, the colors are rich, and couples relax in a way they rarely do in front of a camera. These photos and the film below are some of the most playful we have ever made.

The bamboo forest has its own music: the wood creaks and knocks in the wind, birds call from the canopy, and the light falls in thin golden stripes on the path. With the pink parasol, the white flower crown and the deep sound of the conch shell, Natasha and Tyson turned a simple walk in the woods into a little Hawaiian fairy tale they will never forget.

We know the quiet waterfalls and bamboo groves of Oahu and the best time of day to visit each one. Add a rainforest or waterfall shoot to any of our packages, the day before your wedding or the day after.
